calartsgd.tumblr.com will present an evolving snap-shot of the visual culture of the GD program.

The CalArts graphic design program is known for its vibrant (literally) visual culture. Our hallways and walls explode with elaborate screen-printed posters, while our wall cases and ceiling beams host a living museum of historical work. This backdrop not only reflects our culture of making, but also, like any environment, informs and inspires the new work that happens within it. In an effort to begin to document and to share this visual culture, faculty member Anther Kiley, with help from grad student Jessica Lee, has launched a GD program Tumblr. Complimenting the news focus of this site, the Tumblr will offer up a purely visual snapshot of the environment and output of the program.
