We are excited to announce this year’s MFA and BFA End of Year Shows featuring work by all year levels. This year’s MFA show, Version Variation, “is a response to the archetypal contemporary graphic design exhibition. The type of exhibition where graphic design work is shown in the context of “the white cube” and is treated as pristine art objects free from enhancements, distortion, and manipulation save for the neatly type-set wall placard and the occasional frame. […] The show is a variation on how graphic design work can be seen and experienced. The works in the show are new versions of original works, both in form and context. Within the show itself new versions are filtered through different mediums and become new variations.” A newspaper of the work featured in this year’s MFA show will be available onsite.

This year’s BFA show, GD_EOYS_FINAL.PDF, “highlights admirable attributes of the CalArts Designer as context for examining their work and their work processes. The exhibition will include an on-site workshop; visitors are welcome to participate.”

Both shows run till May 15, from 10am – 5pm.
